DB2 V8 is a momentous release. The migration process itself has significantly changed from a single process to a three-phase procedure with fallback limitations and implications. Don’t be intimidated. This presentation will review the V8 Migration experience at John Deere using a Triathlon analogy, to help you prepare for your big event. This presentation topic was delivered at IDUG North America 2005. Guess what?! At time of publication, we’re still in the process of migrating! Come and find out WHY. We’ve learned a lot more, and I’ll share our experiences regarding problems and compatibility issues.
