This session covers usage and recent enhancements pertaining to the Materialized Query Table (MQT) feature in the DB2 Optimizer. Isn't it frustrating when you define a materialized query table and expect DB2 to use it but it does not? It is well known that there are huge performance benefits using MQTs when answering queries. What should you consider when defining an MQT as far as matching goes? This session talks about new enhancements with MQT matching and also gives you some do's and don'ts to help the DB2 optimizer to exploit MQTs.
