This presentation covers seven shells I use to monitor production Informix engines. Two covered in detail are enhancements to the alarm and evidence shells provided by IBM/Informix. I will show my changes to these shells, and how these changes prevent potential problems like multiple alarms flooding the system, and doing log backups. Another shell covered in detail gives advance warning that dbspace(s) are running low.
