JCL for Platinum Command Processor

JCL for Platinum Command Processor
Can any one give me a sample JCL to issue a Platinum Command in batch mode,
such as
- TERM PLATINUM (dbname) SPACE(*) ?

TIA.

James,

Have you gotten a response from anyone on this(anything from Platinum)?

I asked the same question of Platinum about 2 years ago, and the
answer was that they did not have a batch interface to
terminate a utility. (Things may have changed since then, and
I would be interested in knowing if there is something out there
now).

Our solution was not ideal, but it worked. We set up a program to
accept a platinum utility id and userid (optional). The program
would then DELETE the correct row from the platinum restart table.

We used a PROC that called the program with a simple override (the
util to term).

This is only used on the TEST lpar. Production terminates require
DBA intervention. Not fun.

Some other things that you may want to investigate are the
RESTART(BYPASS) option of the platinum load. This allows a
utility to be restarted without having to terminate a previous
run. Can be useful for LOAD REPLACE type jobs.

Good luck,

Here is what I have used. This also runs standard IBM commands
as well.

//*
//*
//**********************************************************************
//* THIS JCL RUNS THE PLATINUM COMMAND PROCESSOR IN BATCH MODE
//**********************************************************************
//*
//PTLDB2C EXEC PGM=PTLDRIVM,PARM='EP=PTLDB2C/DB2P'
//STEPLIB DD DSN=PLATINUM.DB2.UTIL.LOADLIB,DISP=SHR
//PTILIB DD DSN=PLATINUM.DB2.UTIL.LOADLIB,DISP=SHR
//PTIPARM DD DSN=PLATINUM.DB2.UTIL.PARMLIB,DISP=SHR
//PTIXMSG DD DSN=PLATINUM.DB2.UTIL.XMESSAGE,DISP=SHR
//PTIMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//*
//SYSIN DD *
-DISPLAY PLATINUM(*)
-DIS DB(DBNAME) SPACENAM(*) RESTRICT LIMIT(*)
-TERM PLATINUM (DBNAME) SPACENAM(TSNAME)
