WLM managed SP address spaces

WLM managed SP address spaces
Hi,

We're on DB2 OS/390 V6.1 and had just implemented WLM goal mode in OS/390
2.10. In an attempt to activate WLM-managed SP address space, we had set up
APPLENV in WLM, completed the RACF work, made the ZPARM changes but failed
to start SP address space successfully.

Error message while starting the address space:

"+DSNX982I DSNX9WLM ATTEMPT TO PERFORM RRS ATTACH FUNCTION SPAS_ID
FAILED WITH RRS RC = 00000008 RSN = 00F30091 SSN = DSNT
PROC= DSNTWLM ASID = 00A1 WLM_ENV = DSNTWLM"

It appeared that RRSAF connect was attempted by the address space while
coming up but RRS were not active (which was true). Is RRSAF attach, hence
RRS, required for WLM-managed SP address spaces ? Are there any redbooks
that touch on this ?

Thanks in advance...

T Chao

RRS is required for WLM Managed Stored Procedures / UDFs. See DB2 UDB for
OS/390 and z/OS V7 Administration Guide.

I am pretty sure RRS is required.

Terry,

We are working on the same thing. RRS / RRSAF are required for WLM SP's.
You need to relink your code and use the DSNRLI include statement. Then
you must issue an ALTER PROCEDURE statement to specify the WLM ENVIRONMENT.

This should take care of your problem.

You can refer to IBM Redbook sg24-4693-01 for details on these procedures.

Good Luck!!

Yes, RRS is required.

Check out Redbook SG24-5485-01 Cross-Platform DB2 Stored Procedures:
Building and Debugging. Check out Chapter 5, especially section 5.13.
