how to get the value of "identity columns"

how to get the value of "identity columns"
I have been looking forward to "identity columns", but I am curious how we will
use them.

After an insert into a table with an "identity column" that is "generated
always", how do we determine what value was assigned to the row that was just
inserted?

Thanks,
Tim

Use an AFTER INSERT TRIGGER for the table. Retrieve from the
transition table.

We recognize this as a requirement and have a couple of ideas on how to
resolve it. As to how and when we really can't say at this point because
we are not sure exactly how we are going to implement it. I realize that I
am not telling you much but I wanted to at least let you know that we have
something under development to address this.
