Buffer Pools & Checkpoint

Buffer Pools & Checkpoint
Hi all, I have some questions;
What should be a site's total buffer pool size approximately with 1M thread, 100M SQL daily and with 300 GB data?
Is 1.2 GB a high value if there is no paging in the system?
Do you change your LOGLOAD value dynamically and what is your checkpoint interval during on-line&batch processing?

Happy new year!

Regards, Serdar

Re: Buffer Pools & Checkpoint
(in response to Serdar Sabri ÖZKUBULAY)
Serdar,
Buffer pool sizes have no relationship to the number of threads, or sql
stmts. or
the amount of data. Pool sizing depends on the actual access/workload for
the
data, and the reference patterns for the data, and the placement/grouping
of objects into different pools.
Also, with 1.2 gig of memory allocated to pools, I can guarantee that your
system is
paging - to expanded, but maybe not to dasd. However, paging is system
overhead
that might be reduced by proper pool sizing/tuning.

Joel
