C A DATA NAVIGATOR
2 questions.

1 Does anyone know where I can get some information on CA's (platinum) data
navigator ..
or a how to type guide???

2 I'm using the fast unload to take a sampling of our production database
(10%) to load to our test region
to maintain referential intergrity.. I need to load the parent table..
and all of the related children tables
with the same primary keys...

sample of the query:

SELECT *
FROM PARENT.TABLE
SELECT-OPTIONS
LIMIT 7660663
SAMPLE (1,10);

My question is .. can this be applied to a subselect

select *
from child.table
where primary-key =
( select primary-key
from parent.table
select-options
limit 7660663
sample (1,10))

DB2 V6 Rejects this saying the select is invalid.

so does anyone have any ideas

Data Navigator has been replaced with RC/Extract. RC/Extract provides a
hint wizard as well as a standard interface that makes what you want to
accomplish very easy. If you have Data Navigator licenses you should
have been sent the information for obtaining RC/Extract as well as the
Data Navigator stabilization letter dated Oct 19. With the P01 GA
release it will no longer be around.

You can get to the Data Navigator CD via STARTCC using your ID, etc.

You should get RC/Extract in, it is very easy to use.

You should create a Data Navigator Strategy and specify your sampling on
it, then that Strategy will work in conjunction with Fast Unload to
perform what you desire. The Data Naviagor CD will go over this in
detail.

I will send you the Data Navigator Adboe files in a separate email.

Hello,
Have you tried defining the Parent-child relationship in CA's RI manager.
Subsequent data extract will look into this RI and then does
Fast unload.

Anand

Hi Derez,

if you are still interested in SQL, try the following:

SELECT *
FROM child.table A
WHERE EXISTS (SELECT '1'
FROM parent.table B
WHERE A.key = B.key
AND..select options)
;
