OBID on Image Copy
Is it possible to get the OBID from an IBM Image Copy or an BMC Copy instead of the DB2 catlog?

Use the DSN1PRNT utility.

Translating DSN1PRNT output, V6 Admin Guide "4.6.6.3 Recovery of an
accidentally dropped table":
· Field HPGOBID is four bytes long and contains the DBID in the first
two bytes and the PSID in the last two bytes. Use Win calculator in
advanced mode to convert hex to dec
i.e. HPGOBID='01070138'X dbid= '0107'x = 263 psid = '0138'x = 312

· Field PGSOBD (for non-LOB table spaces) is two bytes long and contains
the OBID of the table.
i.e. PGSOBD='0303'X obid = 771

William,

Yes it is. Use DSN1PRNT. See "Recovery of an
Accidentally Dropped Table" in the Adminstration
Guide.

Assuming you have access to BMC Unload +, unload from an image copy of
the SYSIBM.SYSTABLES (SYSDBASE IC). Remember the value will be in hex,
then convert it.

Just make sure you plug in the correct image copy name for the time
period you are interested in.

SELECT DBID, OBID
FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLES
WHERE NAME = 'yourtable'
AND CREATOR = 'tblowner'
