DB2 Connect fixpack installation problem

DB2 Connect fixpack installation problem
Hello,

At the end of the fixpack installation process we get the following
error message for db2sec.exe:
"The procedure entry point is not found ... in db2sys.dll."

I assumed that this means that the old db2sys.dll is being held and
the installation process wants the new dll. Would this be correct?

Interestingly enough we have stopped the security server service
before installing the fixpack (we did not deactivate it und reboot,
however).

Could we have avoided this problem if we had deactived the service and
then reboot the server? (In another case we had a similiar problem
with db2stop.exe, although all instances were stopped beforehand).

This is for DB2 Connect EE Version 7, Fixpacks 3 and 6. The
installation appears to have been successful.

TIA,
Christopher Keller

Did you stop everything connected with DB2 for all the instances on that
machine, including the DB2 JDBC applet servers and the warehouse server? I've
had this problem if absolutely everything wasn't stopped, even though supposed
the install claims it stops everything. I've found that it doesn't and you
must stop everything manually on certain types of installs. After redoing the
install of FP6 with everything stopped everything worked just fine.

I should have mentioned that we did stop all the DB2 Services as well as
some other services (tivoli, norton). From the newsgroup
ibm.software.db2.udb I did get the following interesting response:

I used to see this frequently when there were older copies of some DB2
DLLs in the PATH ahead of the ones in sqllib\bin. You may want to make sure
that's not the case.
