DB2 Replication - Starting replication for first time without usi ng COLD START
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to start a replication process for the
first time without wiping out everything in the target table.

I have two tables:
target.tab1 and source.tab1

I need to replicate all changes in the source without affecting what is
already in the target
A cold start will wipe out everything in the target and replace it with the
entire contents of the source.
A warm start will need a information from previous apply process. I this
case, of course, there wont be any as this will be the first time through.

Can anyone help?

(in response to Peter Green)
Peter,

Try to update your Control Tables with the following before starting up replications.

--
UPDATE ASN.IBMSNAP_REGISTER SET DISABLE_REFRESH = 1
OR SOURCE_TABLE LIKE 'XXXXXX%' ;
--
UPDATE ASN.IBMSNAP_PRUNCNTL
SET SYNCHPOINT = X'00000000000000000000',
SYNCHTIME = CURRENT TIMESTAMP
WHERE APPLY_QUAL = 'YYYYYYYY' AND SET_NAME = 'ZZZZZZ' ;
--
UPDATE ASN.IBMSNAP_SUBS_SET
SET SYNCHPOINT = NULL, SYNCHTIME = CURRENT TIMESTAMP,
LASTRUN = CURRENT TIMESTAMP,
LASTSUCCESS = CURRENT TIMESTAMP, STATUS = 0
WHERE APPLY_QUAL = 'YYYYYYYY' AND SET_NAME = 'ZZZZZZ' ;
--

HTH.
