HP Unload!

HP Unload!
Hi,

I am trying to run HP Unload on one of my partition tablespace. Now I need
to unload from Image Copy that was taken few days back. The image copy are
based by partition. Is there a way I can get data of all partition in a
single output dataset by running once the HP Unload. Also what is the
problem with this HP Unload job. It seems it doesn't like the COPYDDN that I
have specified. Can anyone let me know how to specify that dataset name.
The job fails with a return code of 8.

DSNU010I DSNUGBAC - UTILITY EXECUTION COMPLETE, HIGHEST RETURN CODE=0

UNLOAD TABLESPACE CAL.ACCTMSTR PART(3)

COPYDDN DP0.BKUP.CAL.ACCTMSTR.P00003.D021210.T004029

SELECT * FROM CAL.ACCT_MSTR

OUTDDN (SYSREC01)

FORMAT VARIABLE END

INZSE158 ERROR : OPERAND DP0.BKUP.CAL.ACCTMSTR.P00003.D021210.T004029 IS TOO
LONG - KEYWORD COPYDDN

Syed

The COPYDDN is a ddname specification not a dataset name.

Just a wag here, but COPYDDN is looking for a DDNAME, not a dataset name.

Hi Syed,

The COPYDDN is looking for a DDNAME, instead of a datasetname. So it would
be easier to allocate the imagecopy dataset to a DD statement, and use that
DDname.

As for concatenating, I suppose you can try allocating multiple DDs, one
for each partition, all pointing to the same output dataset, with a DISP of
(new, catlg) for the first partition, and a disp of MOD for the rest. (But
there might be a better way around).

COPYDDN should point to a DDNAME not a dsname.

Syed,

Once you allocated a ddn for the copyddn parameter, you can actually
concatenate all the the FIC under that specific ddname to process all the
partitions you want and still get the result in one output dataset.
MYCPY DD DSN=...
DD DSN=...
DD DSN=...
etc...

If you want // processing you could define

MYCPYnnn DD DSN=
nnn replaced by the partition number for each partition FIC you want to
unload from.

add
MYOUTnnn DD ... you output file (one per partition you want

modify the PART() spec to include all the partition you have so defined:
PART(1,4,10) fox example
code COPYDDN MYCPY
and OUTDDN MYOUT (drop the nnn part, the product will try to find them
automatically)

Re: HP Unload!
(in response to Norbert Thiebaud)
You can use FROMCOPY with a DSNAME
( single dataset )

FROMCOPYDDN with a DDNAME

( advantage with FROMCOPYDDN is that you can
concatenate multiple imagcopy datasets if you
imagcopy by partition and wish to unload all
together )
