UDB/AIX license cost
Hi,

does anyone know what the cost of a single UDB license on an AIX box would
be ? I am just after a ballpark figure. Thanks

Regards,
Warren Homer

I bet you do not get a straight answer!!!!

I wish there was one, as it may make our lives a little easier when trying
to convince mgt to use UBB over Oracle.

This document includes list pricing for DB2 UDB v8 (I don't know if these
are valid in Australia, though):

Have you tried their web site? www.ibm.com, then click "Products and
Services", then "Database Management", "DB2", "How to Buy", "Buy online",
and you get info like

DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition V7.2 License Packs
20P5291
DB2 UDB Enterprise Ed. V7.2 - 1 Processor
$25,000.00

Obviously this is UDB 7.2, not 8.1 pricing, and it's Enterprise Edition, not
Workgroup / SE. I think 8.1 SE was down at 5K or 7K per processor, but
can't find that in print.

But Les is probably right - this is list price, and you may be able to get a
better deal/discount/etc.
