Re: Remote UDB access

Bill
did you bind spufi down at the windows 2000 box? job DSNTIJSG can do
this for you
make sure you include the location name in the bind.... You can also bind
dsntep2

BIND PACKAGE(LOCATION.DSNESPCS) MEMBER(DSNESM68) -
ACTION(REPLACE) ISOLATION(CS) CURRENTDATA(NO) -
LIBRARY('DSN.V610.SDSNDBRM')
.
.
.
.

Bill, Actually it tells you how to do it in the Appl Prog Guide or SQL Reference, I forget which one but can dig out the steps if needed. Do a find in those manuals on the spufi package that ya got the error on. Cheers, Phil

Re: Remote UDB access
(in response to Bill Morgan)
Bill,
I was never able to get three part names to work. However, with an explicit
connect using two
part names, I have been successful. Below is JCL and BIND control
statements to bind SPUFI
and DSNTEP2. The first step does a bind replace of the plans to include a
package list with a
wild carded location node. The second step actually binds the DBRMs at the
remote DB2.
Note, you may need to add entries in SYSIBM.USERNAMES for the PLAN OWNER
since DB2/390 sends
this authid on the request even though it's not used by the remote DB2 in
Win2000. Specify the
location name on line 10 of the main SPUFI panel and remember to use only
two part names.
By the way, this method also works with QMF.

//*---------------------------------------------------
//* BIND SPUFI PLAN TO INCLUDE APPROPRIATE PACKAGE --
//* LIST. --
//*---------------------------------------------------
//BINDPLAN EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,REGION=4096K,DYNAMNBR=20
