Sorry, but the newer DB2 versions on the mainframe have another name (as
shown e.g. at

DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS is the real product name............... ;-)) And in
the near future (?) it will be renamed to DB2 fo z/OS.....

Recovery Knowledge is please to announce new enhanced features to Version
4.1.1 of GENDB2. GENDB2 is a software product that automates the recovery
of DB2/MVS resources Off-site Disaster Recovery as well as On-site. The new
features to the software include:

DROPPED TABLESPACE Feature:
GENDB2 records all DBIDs, PSIDs, and OBIDs. When a dropped Tablespace need
to be recovered the customer use GENDB2 ISPF panel driven procedure to match
the old IDs with the current IDs using Timestamp to recover the dropped
Tablespaces. No longer will the customer be required to run reports and
key-in OLD and Current ID information. All information (DBID, PSID, all
OBIDs, input and output DSNAMES) are displayed on ISPF panels for the user.


MASS DB2 DATA COPY Feature:
Unload/Load - Copy all tables in a database from a DB2 to another DB2.

COMPLETE DATABASE MAINTENANCE Feature:
From a SINGLE panel the user may generate jobs to perform utilities runs on
ALL Tablespaces in a database.
1. Check Indexes and Data on all Tablespaces in a database.
2. Image Copy all Tablespaces in a database.
3. Reorg all Tablespaces in a database.
4. Quiesce all Tablespaces in a database.
5. Modify all Tablespaces in a database.
6. Repair all Tablespaces in a database.
7. Report all Tablespaces in a database.
8. Recover (Forward, TOCOPY, TORBA) all Tablespaces in a database. This
feature has been modified.
