Has anyone installed and is using XML on z/OS DB2?

Has anyone installed and is using XML on z/OS DB2?
My systems DBA is starting to look into installing the XML extenders and
getting that setup to run on our DB2v7 for z/OS platform.

He is starting to have some questions as he works through this. I was
wondering how many other shops are using XML on this platform and have been
through the install process, and if there are any contacts he can get in
touch with.

Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

I've installed the XML extenders and am starting to work with some of our
JAVA/XML types to do some serious testing and evaluation of the product. One
of the things we want to understand is when are they benefical and when they
should not be used, plus what are the limitations.

You're more than welcome to contact me offline if you'd like.

I also would be interested in hearing the limitations of the XML extenders.
We have just started working with them.

We have XML extender for DB2V7 om Z/os installed.
I have been testing it a little, but we don't have any xml-extender stuff
in production.

We have a home grown XML parser written in C and use it to load data into our
CCM system's DB2 database. No XML Extenders in use.

The XML messages come from client systems via MQS and the routine which handles
the MQS message (which consists of XML) calls the parser and loads the data
into DB2. The parser runs on z/OS.

Don't know, if this is the kind of experience you are looking for. We are very
happy with it.

Bernd
