Templates & Listdef

Edward Kosek

Templates & Listdef
We are on DB2 V7 on OS/390 . We are new to using templates and listdef.

We have a test application where we would like to unload several tables
and then load them to another database. We have run the unload using the
templates and listdef feature, but are unsure how to incorporate this new
feature on the load
side.

Is there a way to run the load for multiple tables using
template/listdef? Is there a way to unload with template/listdef and
generate a single syspunch dataset?

Edward,

LOAD does not work with LISTDEF but it does work with TEMPLATE.
For the same task, we are concatenating all the SYSPUNCHs in SYSIN.

Re: Templates & Listdef

One thing you can do in a load is specify a cursor. In this cursor you can
reference a table on a different DB2 and use it as input. You can also
specify a WHERE clause in the cursor.

EXEC SQL
DECLARE C1 CURSOR FOR SELECT * FROM
??????.UNLOAD_TABLE
ENDEXEC

LOAD DATA LOG NO NOCOPYPEND
RESUME YES
INCURSOR(C1)
INTO TABLE
??????.LOAD_TABLE

Hello

I have a problem about partioned tablespace in RESTP status. I do not have Archived Logs to recover. (It was on disc and deleted.)
Now I want to drop tablespace and I get

-UDBT DSNJR126 REPLY Y TO RETRY LOG READ REQUEST, N TO ABEND

When I reply N

I stops db2,

We use DB2 7.1 on z/OS 1.4. What can I do ?

Thanks..
