Issue DB2 command -display group will tell you DB2 level if that is what you are looking for.

Run the Diagnose utility with function MEPL
Provides the PTF level of most critical modules.
This is the method that IBM Level 2 uses when it wants to determine the service level.

There are a few other methods that work but are some what dependent on shop maintance standards such as

F irlmname,STATUS,MAINT will give you the IRLM maintance level ... If IRLM and DB2 are maintained to the same put level one can infer the DB2 level.

Look at the size in SDSNLOAD of LMOD DSNXGRDS. This is optomizer, the bigest LMOD in DB2 always increases in size. One can compare two DB2 systems and get a real good idea of which is newer (or if they are the same) just by looking at this module. In ISPF VIEW or BROWSE just do a sort size when you are looking at the SDSNLOAD member list and this guy will always end up on the top.
