Codepage problem on V7
Hi,

After migrating DB2 to V7 from V6 ASP and JSP applications could not show special Turkish characters, if I start V6 it is OK again. Both versions use same catalog ie same systrings.

Do you have any idea?

Is the thread originating from a remote source like a UNIX server?
The reason I ask is starting in V7 there is greater use of UNICODE.
If DB2 Connect or whatever is UNICODE complient then you either need to install the appropate UNICODE support on the mainfram or disable UNICODE in the client. Lots of instructions in APARS on this if needed I can look up some numbers for you.

AW: Codepage problem on V7
(in response to serdar ozkubulay)
This combination isn't a part of DSN8LST from V7.

I believe ISO-8859-9 aka LATIN-5 is 1152

For V7 there are three methods how DB2 does codepage translation

1. SYSTRINGS
2. Unicode feature (issue mvs command D UNI,ALL)
3. LE ICONV.

Please verify how DB2 V6 handle the codepage translation.

AFAIK option 3 is not stratetic anymore and there are some bugs. So the best would be to setup
OS/390 UNICODE feature (free) and load the required codepage combination.

If you have Cobol Enterprise you could try something like this to verify the combination on your host

Exec Sql Declare Csr1 Cursor for
Select *
from #ALET0AD.DEMO_ASCII
End-Exec
EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION End-Exec.
01 LOWER-A-TO-Z pic x(26).
EXEC SQL DECLARE :LOWER-A-TO-Z VARIABLE CCSID 273
End-Exec.

EXEC SQL
SELECT
LOWER_A_TO_Z ,
UPPER_A_TO_Z ,
ZERO_TO_NINE ,
X00_TO_XFF
INTO
:LOWER-A-TO-Z,
:UPPER-A-TO-Z,
:ZERO-TO-NINE,
:X00-TO-XFF
FROM #ALET0AD.DEMO_ASCII
WHERE ZERO_TO_NINE > ' '
END-EXEC

Display "SQLCODE=" SQLCODE
Display "SQLCA=" SQLCA
Display "LOWER-A-TO-Z=" LOWER-A-TO-Z
Display "UPPER-A-TO-Z=" UPPER-A-TO-Z
Display "ZERO-TO-NINE=" ZERO-TO-NINE
Display "X00-TO-XFF=" X00-TO-XFF-TEXT

It's just a sample

Hi,

We solved our problem by coding DISABLEUNICODE=1 in DB2CLI.INI in the application server then rebooting it. Actually it is said in the beginning but just said that code DISABLEUNICODE=1 in DB2CLI.INI, then we code it in the gateway and nothing happened.

Thanks
