MIGRATION FROM UDB7.1 TO UDB7.2
Hi;

I'm working on DB2 UDB NT v7.2. My database was
created in v 7.1 before. I resotred the backup image
on 7.2. Do i require to migrate it on 7.2?

I'm getting some problems in some functions like
DECRYPT_CHAR when working in 7.2 in older versioned
database. When i create new database in 7.2 it works
but don't work at the database i created ver 7.1.
Do i require to migrate it on 7.2?

Ali:

Just a wild guess here, but did you run the command "db2updv7" against the database after you restored it from 7.1 to 7.2? Nearly every FixPakReadme.txt recommends doing this after upgrading past FixPak 2, saying: "This command makes an entry in the database that ensures that database objects created prior to executing this command use existing function signatures that may match the new function signatures".

You may also need to re-bind the bind files @db2ubind.lst, @db2cli.lst and db2sch.bnd after connecting to the database. Again, refer to the FixPak Readme text for the 7.2 FixPak you're currently on for details.

Hi Hasnain

Make sure the database is updated with “db2updv7 -d databasename”
