Re: How can I found DB2 sussystem ID and SQLID in M/F cobol pgm

Do a DB2 command -DIS THREAD and parse the output
The users thread will have an * in the "A" column
The DB2 subsystem name is on the line begining dsn9022I

in this example the user is M63576 and the subsystem name is -DTAD

EXAMPLE
-dis thread
,DSNV401I -DTAD DISPLAY THREAD REPORT FOLLOWS -,
,DSNV402I -DTAD ACTIVE THREADS -,
,NAME ST A REQ ID AUTHID PLAN ASID TOKEN,
,TSO T * 3 M63576D M63576 03FE 70673,
,TSO N 29 M124BH M124BH 0448 0,
,DISPLAY ACTIVE REPORT COMPLETE,
,DSN9022I -DTAD DSNVDT '-DIS THREAD' NORMAL COMPLETION,
,DSN,

For those who suggested select current server ....
This is not the subsystem name
Its value could be diffrent in a number of cicumstances like
No DDF
Type of communication (VTAM, TCPIP, VTAM GENERIC RECOURCES

Those are special DB2 registers. Please see the SQL Reference, Chapter 2,

Re: How can I found DB2 sussystem ID and SQLID in M/F cobol pgm

I would like to reiterate what Avram mentioned.
The Current Server register contains the value of the location name which
isn't necessarily the same as the subsystem ID.

Re: How can I found DB2 sussystem ID and SQLID in M/F cobol pgm
(in response to Mike Brennan)
If your running data sharing selecting the special register "current member"
will let you which member your running on, in our case it is the same as
the subsystem name. It would depend ou how your sysprog set it up. If
your not running datasharing current member only returns spaces

Re: How can I found DB2 sussystem ID and SQLID in M/F cobol pgm
(in response to Rich Gugel)
Myoung Soo, (I hope I got you name right)

This is one of those illogical parts of DB2, and one that is documented, but
not well explained. Basically, you can select any special register (e.g.
Current Date, Current Packageset, Current SQLID, etc.) from ANY table.

For example: SELECT CURRENT TIMESTAMP FROM SYSIBM.SYSDATABASE is valid
syntax & will return a result set. When you do, however, you will see (the
same) current timestamp for each row of the result set, which could be
hundreds of rows -- depending on how many databases you have defined. The
SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1 table was created by IBM in order to have a standard way of
getting to these special registers efficiently; it's just a generic 1-row
table.

HTH
Mark
