DB2 LOAD with SORTKEYS

DB2 LOAD with SORTKEYS
A question concerning SORTKEYS parameter for DB2 load utility (DB2 V7).
Why is it necessary to specify DD statements for SYSUT1 and SORTOUT
datasets? According to the explanations in the DB2 utility guide (p. 180
f.) the load utility should not use them if SORTKEYS parameter is provided
with an integer > 0.
If you run the reorg utility with SORTKEYS parameter it is not necessary to
specify SYSUT1 and SORTOUT DD statements.

(in response to Jochen Kauschalek)
Yes, it is not required to specify Sysut1 and sortout
datasets when you use SORTKEYS.

When SORTKEYS>0, means you are enabling parallel index
build. With this option there will be subtask started
for sort during reload phase only. Here you are
directly moving to a combined phase called SORTBLD
phase from Reload phase. So you are skipping separate
SORT and BUILD phase.
(Sysut1 - I/P to SORT and
SORTOUT - I/P to build pahse)

It is a good idea to use SORTKEYS option when you have
more than one index on the table to enable PIB.

Thanks & Regards,
