PQ59549 add DB2 Mqseries function
Afternoon list,

Has anyone experienced problems running the verification job DSNTEJMQ
when adding the DB2 Mqseries functions?

I have been through the install document and when running the
verification job get a -443 on every call:

SELECT DB2MQ1C.MQSEND('TESTING MSG 1') FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1;

SQLERROR ON SELECT COMMAND, FETCH FUNCTION

RESULT OF SQL STATEMENT:

DSNT408I SQLCODE = -443, ERROR: EXTERNAL FUNCTION MQSEND (SPECIFIC

DIAGNOSTIC TEXT rc=404:amSesCreate

DSNT418I SQLSTATE = 38H01 SQLSTATE RETURN CODE

DSNT415I SQLERRP = DSNXRRTN SQL PROCEDURE DETECTING ERROR

DSNT416I SQLERRD = -891 0 0 -1 0 0 SQL DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION

Re: PQ59549 add DB2 Mqseries function

38H01 A MQSeries function failed to initialize.

Possible reason (among other)
1. DB2 WLM STC doesn't contains SCSQLOAD
2. DD for AMT and AMTHOST missing (QMGR name wrong)
3. QMGR name wrong/not startet
4. Security

Re: PQ59549 add DB2 Mqseries function
(in response to Roland Schiradin)
Morning Roland,

Thanks for that, where did you dig that up from?

I'm happy with the jcl, not so happy with the contents of the AMT and
AMTHOST files, I managed to get the AMT file into the AMI admintool and
edit that, but the AMTHOST file just would not open. I ended up editing
it in a DOS window and doing a binary transfer back to the host.

The fact that the failure seems to be from the amSesCreate call makes me
think there is something wrong in one of the AMT files...or both.

Have you had any experience with these?

Steve,

Search string 38H01

I'm also using the AMI tool to customize AMT and AMTHOST. Unfortunally if you transfer them to the host
and back to the PC the AMI tool had problems because of some binary zero's at the end of the AMT and/OR
AMTHOST. So keep them on your PC and never try to download them again from the host or use an editor (not NOTEPAD)
to get rid of the binary zero at the end of those files.

You may also use the following JCL to verify the AMT/AMTHOST settings

//GEN EXEC PGM=AMTBURV
//STEPLIB DD DSNAME=SYS4.MQS.SCSQLOAD.LOAD,DISP=SHR
//AMTHOST DD DSN=SYS3.DBDC.PARMLIB(AMTHTT),DISP=SHR
//AMT DD DSN=SYS3.DBDC.PARMLIB(AMTT),DISP=SHR
//*EPORT DD DSN=REPORT.OUTPUT.FILE
//REPORT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*

Re: PQ59549 add DB2 Mqseries function
(in response to Steve McAuliffe)
ok...now I'm confused....not hard...

I have got it working, in the inane fiddlings I pasted a readable
version of the AMTHOST file into the host member ie:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<queueManagerNames
defaultConnection = "ME04"
connectionName1 = "queueManagerName1"
connectionName2 = "queueManagerName2"
/>

reran the verification job and all is well...

this means that I am using the UTF8 encoded AMT file with an EBCIDIC
AMTHOST file. I presume if I ever got the AMTHOST into AMI and changed
it, it would have worked ok when sent back as a UTF8 coded file.

Thanks for your help Roland. If you know where I can get hold of the
AMTBURV pgm that would be handy.

Thanks again...

But am I missing something here, the files start off on
the host, they are delivered via PQ59549. In order to get them to the
AMI I need to binary transfer them to the PC, then once edited transfer
back to the host. I edited the AMT file, (DSNAMT), which is how I
managed to get that into the AMI, but the AMTHOST file, (DSNAMTHT), just
does not want to play.

I also do not seem to have a copy of the AMTBURV
program....these things are sent to try us...

Rather than use the DSN supplied AMTHOST source, I've
also tried the MQ supplied file, but with the same problem in the AMI. I
get the following error when I try and open it..

BIP0056E Cannot read the XML file for a resource.

This is an internal error.
The following errors occurred when parsing the XML file:

C:\amthost
At line 3 before column 29, Attribute,
"defaultConnection", is not declared in element, "queueManagerNames"

The contents of the file in a DOS edit screen are:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<queueManagerNames
defaultConnection = "ME04"
connectionName1 = "queueManagerName1"
connectionName2 = "queueManagerName2"
/>

Many thanks for your time and help.
