z/os1.4 db2 v7 peoplesoft, unicode
Hello, i sent a question a couple of weeks back asking about Unicode, DB2
V7 and Peoplesoft. We are z/os 1.4 and have implemented Unicode with the
following table:
CUN3000I 16.23.36 UNI DISPLAY 420
ENVIRONMENT: CREATED 01/17/2004 AT 20.15.37
MODIFIED 01/17/2004 AT 20.15.37
IMAGE CREATED 01/16/2004 AT 13.50.07
SERVICE: CHARACTER NORMALIZATION CASE
STORAGE: ACTIVE 18 PAGES
LIMIT 20 PAGES
CASECONV: NONE
NORMSERV: DISABLED
CONVERSION: 00037-01200(13488)-ER 01200(13488)-00037-ER
01208-01200-ER 01200-01208-ER
00037-01208-ER 01208-00037-ER
When we try to start the process schedulers for peoplesoft we get : an
unsupported CCSID was specified.
where can we find what ccsid is wrong? what should be in the table? have
we implemented it properly? is anyone else running a similar enviorment
that could help us? Someone answered suggesting we implement Unicode and
we did but are still having problems. i lost the email address, sorry
Thanks, Jeff

Don't know about Peoplesoft and the codepage combination you need but we use (273 is german)
for our Cobol-Application NOT DB2.

Jeff,

During the DB2 migration, what did you put in for the values on panel
DSNTIPF for EBCDIC, ASCII and UNICODE CCSID? Where the same values used
when Unicode was installed? We used 37, 437, 1208 respectively, but our
situation could be different than yours. Here is the output from doing
a dis uni,all

I note in the PeopleTools 8.44 Installation for DB2 UDB for OS/390 and z/OS
manual the statement:

"Note. Unicode is not supported on DB2 OS/390 and z/OS for PeopleSoft 8.4.
All DB2 OS/390 and z/OS installations will create non-Unicode databases."

Not sure how much bearing this has on the problem on which you are working.

Don't you have a conversion for 1047 to 1200?......Looks like you are
missing some conversions.

Do a ODBC trace and make sure you are not masked by some other issue.
V6 of DB2 used to give a lot of problems both before and after installing
unicode system services.

venkat
