Problem: Cannot change DIAGPATH

Problem: Cannot change DIAGPATH
Hello -

This is DB2 v8.1.1.56.FP6 on AIX 5.2.

When I try to change the DIAGPATH in the instance configuration I get an error:

SQL5137N The entry in the database manager configuration file for the
diagnostic directory path (diagpath) is invalid.

The DB2 diagnostics file shows:

2004-12-09-11.09.02.053039 Instance:abcdefg Node:000
PID:68078(db2flacc) TID:1 Appid:none
oper system services sqloqcurdir Probe:100

errno:
0x2FF20660 : 0x0000000D ....

PID:68078 TID:1 Node:000 Title: Path/Filename

The path I am specifying exists and has all permissions for the
instance owner ID (750).

Any ideas what may be wrong?

Much thanks in advance -

Brian

Re: Problem: Cannot change DIAGPATH
(in response to Brian Stewart)
Brian,

I'm making this up. Take it for what it's worth. I'd think that you need
to have the permissions set to 770 rather than 750 on the path. My
recollection is that the instance owner's group is the administratively
privileged group for the instance, and it seems reasonable that the group
members should be able to write to the diag directory.

Try that, and see if it works. I'm curious too...
