DSNACICS questions
To list:
We invoked DSNACICS from a client to trigger a CICS
program. We received the following message. We are
at DB2 v7.

DSNA305I the CICS EXCI DPL_REQUEST failed.
CICS RESPONSE CODE= x'0012' CICS REASON CODE =
x'00000422'
SYSPROC.DSNACICS - Run started
SYSPROC.DSNACICS - Calling the stored procedure
SYSPROC.DSNACICS - Run completed

Need help, thanks!

DSNA305I THE CICS EXCI func REQUEST FAILED.
CICS RESPONSE CODE = X'hhhh'
CICS REASON CODE = X'hhhhhhhh'
Explanation: DSNACICS uses the CICS EXCI Call
interface to request the execution of a CICS server
program. CICS EXCI interface call func resulted in
an
unexpected CICS response code and reason code.
Possible values of func are:
Initialize_User Initializes the EXCI user
environment.
Allocate_Pipe Allocates a session to a CICS region.
Open_Pipe Connects an allocated pipe to a
receive session of the CICS region.
DPL_Request Issues a request to execute the CICS
server program.
Close_Pipe Disconnects an open pipe from a
CICS region.
Deallocate_Pipe
Deallocates a pipe from a CICS
region.
The failure can occur because the EXCI interface is
not
properly enabled for the CICS subsystem. For
explanations of the CICS response code and reason
code, see CICS External Interfaces Guide.
Severity: 12
System Action: The stored procedure DSNACICS
terminates without calling the CICS transaction.
Programmer Response: Contact the system
programmer.
System Programmer Response: Ensure that the
EXCI interface is enabled to the CICS region that
the
stored procedure calls. If you suspect an error in
the
DB2 stored procedure, refer to Part 3 of DB2
Diagnosis
Guide and Reference for information on identifying
and
reporting the problem.
Add a DSNDUMP DD statement to the JCL startup
procedure for the stored procedure address space in
which DSNACICS runs. Then rerun the application that
calls DSNACICS. This causes DB2 to generate an SVC
dump whenever it issues an error message for
DSNACICS.
If you suspect an error in the DB2 stored procedure,
refer to Part 3 of DB2 Diagnosis Guide and
Reference.
Collect the following diagnostic items listed in
Appendix B, “Problem determination”, on page 1301:
1,
2, 22.

Re: DSNACICS questions
(in response to JH)
Cut and paste from CICS manual External Interfaces

422 SERVER_ABENDED
Explanation: Whilst processing a DPL request, the CICS server application program abended without handling the error.

System Action: The server application program is abended and backout out. The abend code is returned in the abend code field of the EXCI return area.

User Response: Determine why the server program abended and fix the problem.

Contach your CICS people and look in the MSGUSR for msg
