SQL Errors and Automated Console Products

SQL Errors and Automated Console Products
In our environment we have several SQL errors - that will not self
correct without intervention.

These are SQL errors that will not show any information on the MSTR
either.

We have Detector but unless we look at the sql errors on a hourly basis
we miss it.

Is there a product that will generate a console message based on
authid, sqlcode and error count.

So if we recieve 10 or more -804s for this authid - write a console
message so our automate console product can page the dba group.

We can not depend on timely reporting from the developers.

(in response to Paul Walters)
Paul,

Our shop uses DB2 v7.1 os/390 for the DBMS However, our application is based mainly on Microsoft technologies.
And this is how we implemented a similar process to what you are describing. In your message it is not clear where you look at your SQL errors on an hourly basis. But, I wanted to put down what we have implemented, thinking it might be helpful to you anyway.

We talk to DB2 through DB2 connect. The error monitoring for our production application servers starts with errors being written to the application server logs (Windows side). We have a process that reads application logs and copies them into a SQL server database. We have built a reporting mechanism where the process looks at the previous 5 minutes ( every minute, this can be adjusted) and if the error count is more than 10, the DBAs get an error report via e-mail.
