db2 udb LUW 8.1.5 - Connecting to DBs with concurrently
There is one instance with two databases.
DB1 codepage 1255 and DB1 codepage 1252.

We have two applications running on a single server

Each application talks to a different database. Database 1 in using
codepage 1252. database 2 is using codepage 1255.

We cannot get both applications talking to their database at the same
time. We can use the db2set command to change the db2codepage and get
either application to connect but we require both application run
concurrently.

How can we make this happen?

Thank you very much for your help.

Some thoughts, in no particular order:

1) Can you convert the applications to be Unicode applications - and set
db2codepage to 1200 or 1208?
2) The doco says that "The application code page is derived from the active
environment when the database connection is made". Have you tried setting
db2codepage and connecting to one database, resetting db2codepage and
connecting to the other?
3) can you put the applications onto different servers?
4) can you convert the applications to be Unicode applications - and set
db2codepage to 1200 or 1208?
5) can you convert the databases to be Unicode databases?

Now you know why most people try to use only one code page everywhere.

It is usually a good idea to mention environment (application and database
server in this case), version and fixpaks. Often things might work in one
environment and not in others.
