Siebel for DB2 or SQL Server
Hi List,

In an OS/390 DB2 V7.1, SQL Server shop, we are looking into acquiring a
Siebel 7.7 CRM product for about 5000 users and are now studying what
platform to get it for.

I would appreciate any inputs/comments/justifications for using either of
the OS/390 DB2 or SQL Server platforms from anyone using this product in a
similar setting.

TIA,

Ahmad Davari

(in response to Davari.Ahmad)
Well, we are running DB2 V7 on z/OS in a two-way //sysplex. And it is heavy.
The good news - it runs smooth - as long as the clients are running well. So
be sure to limit the number off active threads (DDF) or you 'll go down for
virt.stor.
The other news - still tuning the SQL & indexes, but that makes it better
anyway.
Another thing it took some months to load the database.

I do not know if you can run it on SQL-server. Our system is up about always
(just recycling a member one a 6 week) the datasharing group is up always.

Regards Fred
