The only way I can think of is to see if PERCACTIVE is "low" in relation
to NACTIVEF. As NACTIVEF includes empty, but preformatted, pages and
PERCACTIVE is the really active percentage
you could probably find the PREFORMAT candidates. (Bearing in mind: number
of rows, segsize etc etc and of course "It depends".....)

Re: PREFORMAT question
(in response to Roy Boxwell)
I would suggest there is a high correlation between
- Hi Used RBA = Hi Allocated RBA (after a VSAM open/close) and
- HPGHPREF < Hi Used Page (ie Hi Used RBA/Page size)
(discounting funnies if allocation unit isn't an exact multiple of page
size),
and the use of PREFORMAT. (ie if both are true then it is likely that
PREFORMAT was used; if either is false then it likely that
PREFORMAT wasn't.)

But it is not a 100% correlation: I can come up with scenarios
where the above is true and PREFORMAT is not used, and
scenarios where one is the false and PREFORMAT was used.
