DBExplain to Visual Explain DB2 Z/os V7

DBExplain to Visual Explain DB2 Z/os V7
I've been told via PMR that Tivoli DB/Explain version 6.0known in a former lifeas Candle! DBExplain will/may not be supported under DB2version 8. I was leaning toward replacing the products functionality with Visual Explain. I was hoping that there was a Info Apar, conference presentation,or a whitepaper produced that covered the transition to Visual Explain from DBExplain.Or perhaps a real life experience. Any hints or pointers would be appreciated. TIA Rich Gugel State of Wisconsin Department of Administration DB2 Systems Programmer

IBM has a website that list all of the IBM tools and their DB2 V8
support status at:

Tiny URL - http://tinyurl.com/be7jq

Real URL -

Rich:

You should contact the DB2 Tools people. It was my understanding that they
planned to merge DBExplain, Easy Explain, and SQL/PA.

You need to look for the IBM presentations for their plans to extend and
enhance Visual Explain into a larger set of GUI products that deal with
Optimizer issues.
