Running Capture 7 and Capture 8 simultaneously against the one database

Running Capture 7 and Capture 8 simultaneously against the one database
I have an operational environment running Capture 7 on a mainframe and
replicating to a Windows UDB V7 environment

My final target is Capture V8 and replicating to a LINUX UDB V8
environment.

It would be a great result if I could simply add Capture V8 to the
existing mainframe environment (while still running Capture V7) and
replicate this V8 Capture to a new LINUX UDB V8 environment.

Parallel testing would then be reduced to a simple compare of LINUX UDB
tables to Windows UDB tables.

If compare shows no difference then I can simply turn off Windows server
and remove V7 Capture.

Has anyone tried this?

Can anyone see any showstoppers??
