help with using CAESDR to create CA DB2 install tapes
I am trying to develop a game plan for dropping down Unicenter® xxx for
DB2 UDB for z/OS - MVS from the internet to my PC and the mainframe
all is working well, until ... I run CAESDR .. it looks there is just no
way our shop is going to give me security for BLP - is there anyway to ...
bypass ... this requirement .. or does the lack of BLP authority force me
to order the tapes from CA rather than create the tapes from an downloaded
image? Any advice will bw greatly appreciated

thanks,

(in response to Chris Hoelscher)
Hi Chris,

there is a newer version of CAESDR available, which also allows you to skip the bypass label processing. This is an example:

//GO EXEC PGM=*.LNKESDR.SYSLMOD,COND=((5,LT,LNKESDR)),
// PARM='NOVOL,FILE1DSN=MARER03.CA90.TAPE'
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//DISK DD DISP=SHR,DSN=MARER03.DB2T.PRODUCT.CA90SV00.ESD
//TAPE DD DSN=DUMMY,
// UNIT=(VTAPE,,DEFER),LABEL=(1,SL) ,VOL=RETAIN
//*

FILE1DSN should be the first DSN of the tape. If your version doesn' support this, you need to install a newer common service or you can download an object module from http://supportconnect.ca.com

Good luck

Chris,
An associate of mine, Bob Little, gave me the following override.
in your EXEC card
put EXEC PGM=CAESDR,PARM='NOVOL'

and you won't need BLP.
