This really looks ugly. It suggests that part of the directory is
missing. I assume that you've done a few basic checks and have seen all
the datasets for the directory are in place. If datasets are missing, a
recover would be in order (remember the directory is VCAT managed...you
have to pre-allocate VSAM datasets).

However, I'm wondering if something is just out of whack (technical
term). I would run all of the catalog / directory integrity checks.
These are documented in the steps for REORGing the catalog. Don't reorg
the catalog but run DSN1CHKR, DSN1COPY, Catalog verification
queries...the lot.

If something is broken or missing I would do all the research that I
could. Run integrity checks on the Catalog/Directory. DBD TESTs on the
databases used by the bind (the dependent tables) - DSNDB07 too. Then,
call IBM for their input...especially if this is a production system.

I have a pretty cavalier attitude about out most solutions without
calling in for help, but the directory is not something to be trifled
with; it's not as easily exposed as the DSNDB06 spaces.

Best of luck,
faz

Just a Guess -
But one way you could get this error is when DB2 is trying to allocate a
A002 dataset because the A001 dataset is now 2G. Check the listcat for
dsndb01.spt01 and see how big it is. If it is 2000 cylinders or so, run
listcat and check actual high used rba, then allocate a
dsndb01.spt01.i0001.a002 dataset just like the a001.
