R: [DB2-L] DB2 Start abend s04e
Hi all,
Db2 v8 needs the Z/Os Environment Unicode enabled even if you do not use Unicode in your databases.
That's why Db2 V8 works in Unicode, that means that every single parsing of host variables, incoming data from remote clients, precompile outputs such as dbrms, etc. are worked in Unicode.

The Unicode environment must contains a couple of rows for any conversion you desire, but some of these are mandatory.

As Lori said infors about apars II13048 and II13049 can halp you to fix your problem. How to set up the Unicode Environment could be found inside Z/Os manuals. If you have them in PDF or bookmanager formats search for CUNUNI.

Best regards

Luca Mussato
