[ADMIN] Reminders from list owners
Hello DB2-L Subscribers,

This posting is something we (the list owners) are sending out about every
couple of months. The purpose is to highlight information about DB2-L and also
remind subscribers about certain information. Some information will be
repeated to benefit new subscribers. We hope you will find the information
useful, and save it for future reference. If you have feedback or suggestions,

1) Reminder - The Code Place:
The 'code place' can be found here: http://www.idug.org/user/userlogin.asp -
you will need to become an IDUG Insider. The 'code place' is where you can
find snips of code, SQL examples and other helpful hints that others have
contributed and you can contribute some of your own.

2) Reminder - Set NOMAIL when you are out:
Please, as a courtesy to others, remember to set your subscription to NOMAIL
or sign off from DB2-L when you will be out of the office (see the FAQ). The
list owners reserve the right to set your subscription to NOMAIL if your out
of offices replies are getting returned to subscribers.

3) Reminder - Location of FAQ:
The DB2-L FAQ can be found here: http://www.idugdb2-l.org.
The DB2-L archives can be found here:
http://www.idugdb2-l.org/archives/db2-l.html.

4) Reminder - DB2-L Archives:
If you have trouble viewing the current archives, click on 'Search the
Archives', then click on 'List Archives' again to view the most current
archives.

5) Reminder - Email signatures:
Your phone, fax numbers and addresses in email signatures can be collected by
some companies for advertisement and sales promotion. Please consider that
while attaching signatures to your emails.

6) Reminder - Subject Line:
We suggest you to use an indicator such as LUW, z/OS, BI, etc. in your subject
line for clarity and
ease of use.

[MVS] all DB2 on z/OS post
[LUW] all distributed DB2 post
[BOTH] x-platform post
[FLUFF] for anything not related to DB2.. ie: jokes
[ADMIN] messages from the list administrators
[JOB POSTING] as the first string in the subject line for any job posting.
[AD] for any kind of product advertisement, seminar announcement, etc...

I am reposting this important note for a couple of reasons.

Given that the holidays are quickly approaching and many of you will be
taking some time off, a reminder to set NOMAIL is appropriate.

Also I have noticed a drop in the subject indicator usage in number of
threads that have been posted.

Both these items, as well as the other items listed below, are only
meant to make your subscription to the listserv as
informative/productive as possible.
