Auto maintenance Windows 8.2

Matthew Rhea

Auto maintenance Windows 8.2
Hello.

I'm trying to get automatic maintenance to run on windows 8.2 fixpack
10. I have set the following parms in the database:

Automatic maintenance (AUTO_MAINT) = ON

Automatic database backup (AUTO_DB_BACKUP) = ON

Automatic table maintenance (AUTO_TBL_MAINT) = ON

Automatic runstats (AUTO_RUNSTATS) = ON

Automatic statistics profiling (AUTO_STATS_PROF) = ON

Automatic profile updates (AUTO_PROF_UPD) = ON

Automatic reorganization (AUTO_REORG) = ON

As far as I can tell, DB2 hasn't done anything with this database: no
backup, no runstats, no reorg. I run the LIST HISTORY command to check
for backups and reorgs, and query the SYSCAT views to look at STATS_TIME
for runstats. I've gone through and set up the offline and online
maintenance availability times. Is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks,
Matthew

Re: Auto maintenance Windows 8.2
(in response to Matthew Rhea)
If anyone's interested, here's the cause of the problem:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=JR22370&uid=swg1JR22370
&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en

We have to upgrade to fix it.

Sneaky problem...Loopbacks seem to cause as many
problems as they "work around".
Can't you just uncatalog the loopback entry, catalog a
fake entry (or as many as you need), so that when you
recatalog the loopback entry it appears farther down
the list?
What problem were you trying to get around with the
loopback entry?

Re: Auto maintenance Windows 8.2
(in response to tim malamphy)
I made a mistake. I confused loopback entries with "plain old" remote
entries. We don't have any loopback entries, so I'll have to find another
cause. IBM suggested simiply uncataloging the databases and recataloging
them. I'll give that a try.
