What DB2 security is required to recover a DB2 susystem?

Dee Reins

What DB2 security is required to recover a DB2 susystem?
I mainly support DB2 applications, and now my boss wants me test
recovering the DB2 subsystem.

I can start the DB2 subsystem in SDSF "/+DB2P START DB2
ACCESS(MAINT)". I can not stop the DB2 subsystem . When I try to
recover the catalog I get this message.

READY

DSN SYSTEM(DB2P)

DSNE132I DB2 IS OPERATING IN RESTRICTED ACCESS MODE. MAINTENANCE
PERSONNEL ONLY

READY

I was wondering what security I am lacking to be able to be able to
recover the catalog?

Thanks

Merry Christmas.

(in response to Dee Reins)
In MAINT mode only INSTALL SYSADM is allowed into DB2. The id is in the
zparm.

From Comand Reference:

(MAINT) Prohibits access to any authorization IDs other than
installation SYSADM and installation SYSOPR.
