Question on Storage Group

Question on Storage Group
List,

I have a basic question. We had a Storage group defined as
CREATE STOGROUP
TEMP
VOLUMES(vol3)
VCAT abc
;
Storage group TEMP is used by the tablespace Temp.Space
But the Dataset used by the Tablespace Temp.Space is in different volume
Vol1. But I expected the dataset to be in the volume VOL3.
Please advise why the datasets where allocated to a different volume.

Thanks,

Logaa

Re: Question on Storage Group
(in response to Logaa .T.)
1. If you use SMS check the SMS definitions
2. If you don't't use SMS check if the volume of the SG was updated - allocation on new volume is done during REORG.

Re: Question on Storage Group
(in response to Pawel Woroniecki)
In most installations, volume allocation will be done via SMS which will
override the specification by DB2. Managing disk volumes via DB2 is an
outdated method.
