Precompile date option

Johnny Mossin

Precompile date option
We are converting from one changemanagement system to another. The DB2 decp
date option is EUR. We 'found' a lot of programs precompile with date(ISO).
Do anybody know, where we can see that this precompile option is set ?

Re: Precompile date option
(in response to Johnny Mossin)
In order of preference
1) (IIRC) an options statement at the start of the program - similar to the
one that can be used to specify compile options. Many years since I've
even considered this. This might be memory slippage.
2) run time option as a JCL Parm. In your case there might have been
some change management method to specify this.
3) DSNHDECP module usually built with ZPARMs.

Personally I think it is bad coding practice to not explicitly specify
CHAR(date,ISO) (or whatever you expect) in your SQL. Been bitten once
too often by just this sort of problem.
