RTS for LOAD RESUME YES

RTS for LOAD RESUME YES
Greetings DB2'ers,

I am trying to find out exactly what is supposed to be updated in the
RTS tables when a DB2 Load Resume YES is executed. The DB2 V*
administration guide has a lot of details, and does mention TOTALENTRIES
for INDEXSPACESTATS but I cannot see what will happen for
TABLESPACESTATS. My tests do not update TOTALROWS for a LOAD RESUME YES,
so I'm wondering if this is how it's supposed to work ?

Steen,

Real Time Stats data is stored in virtual memory and externalized at the
ZPARM specified time interval.

Is it possibleyou looked for updated values before the counts were
externalized?

The following charts were supplied in an RTS presentation I attended at
IDUG Norht America 2005 ... this may help answer some of your questions.

Re: RTS for LOAD RESUME YES
(in response to Theresa Ryan)
On tablespacestats,
Total rows, reorginserts, statsinserts, copychanges...

Basically it treats it like insert activity. You need to be careful as
well, ibm just came out with a fix that I am testing. Basically on a
load resume it was doubling the number of total entries.
Ie. If you did a load resume yes and loaded 1000 rows, the totalrows
number would go up by 2000.
Like I said Ibm has put a fix out for this recently.

If you are showing no updates at all I would definatly check the
updatestatstime column and make sure the numbers have been externalized
after you had run your load job, like the other response noted.

FYI. The PTF Mike mentions is UK20536 for V8 and UK20535 for V7.
