DDF error

DDF error
Hi All!
---------
I have a problem with DDF.

I have DB2 Connect EE 5.2 and when I connect thru APPC It works fine,
but when I try to connect Via TCPIP I get the following error:
DSNL030I : DSNLTSEC DDF PROCESSING FAILURE FOR
LUWID=A409F974.G821.B2FC014402FE
AUTHID=SSDDTKA, REASON=00F30013

Is it anything to do with RACF or is it something wrong in my CDB-
database.

MY CDB Looks like this:

LULIST ----------- IS EMPTY
LUMODES ----------- IS EMPTY

Re: DDF error
(in response to Thomas Karlsson)
Your userid does not have access to the DB2 subystem in RACF.
Problem Determination: During TCB connection processing, Subsystem
Support invokes the RACROUTE service (causing a RACF RACHECK) to verify
the authorization ID associated with the requester. If the RACF return
code indicates the requester is not authorized to connect to this DB2
subsystem, the connection request is terminated with this reason code. HTH

Re: DDF error
(in response to Philip Gunning)
Thomas,

To add to Phil's reply, the CDB is not used for IP connections when DB2
OS/390 is acting as an application requester (AR).

Re: DDF error
(in response to Michael McCarthy)
Hi,
I also getting some sort of error when I tried used UDB EE 5.2 TCP/IP. When I
use UDB Client Configuration Assistance to manually add a new database, I got
communication socket errors. From the mainframe side we are using UDB V6.1 for
OS/390. Here is the message I got when I start DDF in MVS.
DSNLILNR TCP/IP GETHOSTBYADDR FAILED WITH 332 RETURN CODE=1 AND REASON
CODE=00000000 .
Did I missing something in CDB tables. Can some one give some insight.

Thanks
Ken

Re: DDF error
(in response to Kenneth Lam)
Ken, Check the etc.services or tcpip.profile or other tcpip datasets to
ensure the hostname and dotted decimal ip address is present. I belive DB2
tries to resolve the host name by reading the ip datasets first, then a DSN
server if you have one. HTH Phil

This is spelled out in the Redbook, Wow! DB2 Supports TCPIP for DB2 for
OS/390 (the name is something like that, I left my copy at home). Go to
www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks and you can look at this book online. HTH

Re: DDF error

Sorry, that should be DNS. Must of been thinking of DB2!!!

Re: DDF error
(in response to Philip Gunning)
I had the same error when setting up TCP/IP connections to our DB2 V5.1 on
OS/390 V2.6.
In RACF there must be a profile in class DSNR with the name subsystem.DIST where
'subsystem' is
the name of your DB2 subsystem on OS/390.
A user must have READ access to this profile in order to use DDF.
