DB2 LUW V9 on Linux and userid lengths
I have DB2 LUW v9 installed on a linux box. My username is 9
characters. Whenever I attempt to attach to the instance or connect to
a database, I get the following:
SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "24" ("USERNAME AND/OR

PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001
However, if I use a user with an 8 character (or shorter) name, it
works. I have DB2 LUW 8.1.3 installed on Windows, and I can connect
with a 9 character username. I know this was an issue with LUW v6, but
it was fixed in the V7 timeframe, but was this only for Windows, but not
Linux or Unix?
