I am getting this error when trying to drop & rebuild an index. The error
says that the index is being referenced by a prepared dynamic statement in
the cache and is in use by an application.
There is nothing that should be using this now. How do I either get the
statement out of the cache or quiesce it?

You could try issuing a -STOP tablespace command for the indexspace (in BATCH, doing it online causes an asynchronous stop not a synchronous one) and see what contention message you get when it times out

That might give you a clue of what and who is stopping your DROP

Thanks. That did work. I cancelled the thread that was holding the
resource and was able to finish.
