Program Migration REXX

Program Migration REXX
Hi Group Happy holidays to you all,

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can help out,

We are a peopsoft environment running in z/OS DB2 v8, and will like some
Advise on a REXX program that will help capture the DDL's

On Migrations from the catalog, (we have developers, PsAdmins) that
scripts comes in on a daily basis to ALTER tables/views, we currently
don't have a tool

To capture object that these migrations will impact. (At one point in
time we had BMC, now that's gone)

This is an example:

CREATE TABLE PSOFT.PSYCTXPRC_PARAMS (BALANCE_ID CHAR(2) NOT NULL,

BALANCE_YEAR SMALLINT NOT NULL,

BALANCE_QTR SMALLINT NOT NULL,

COMPANY CHAR(3) NOT NULL,

ALIGN_COUNT SMALLINT NOT NULL,

SUBMISSION_REF_ID INTEGER NOT NULL) IN DATABASE.TABLESPACE

INSERT INTO PSHRSP1.PSYCTXPRC_PARAMS (

BALANCE_ID,

BALANCE_YEAR,

BALANCE_QTR,

COMPANY,

ALIGN_COUNT,

SUBMISSION_REF_ID)

SELECT

BALANCE_ID,

BALANCE_YEAR,

BALANCE_QTR,

COMPANY,

ALIGN_COUNT,

FROM PSOFT. PSYCTXPRC_PARAMS

DROP TABLE PSOFT. PSYCTXPRC_PARAMS;

COMMIT;

RENAME TABLE PSOFT. PSYCTXPRC_PARAMS TO PS_CTXPRC_PARAMS

Under this there are Indexes and views

Do anyone have a REXX Program that will capture the related objects such
as (index, views etc)? Thanks in advance

Omar Ali

Re: Program Migration REXX
(in response to Omar Ali)
Omar,
You might want to review DB2LOOK which can be obtainied from the IDUG
code page

Go to http://idug.org
Sign in as a member (if you are not a member yet registration / basic
membership is free)
Select the Code Place
You can browse through the entries (lots to see)
or use the search box to look for DDL

IBM has a service aid that will generate DDL as well. I have not had to use it
for some time so I can not give you instructions for obtaining it ... perhaps
one of the other list members can.

Peoplesoft is very complex in terms of number of tablespaces, tables, views
etc. It is unfortunate that you dropped your license for BMC (Catalog
Manager I assume) There are many products that reverse engineer DDL. In
the case of a Peoplesoft site having something is highly recomended.

Best Wishes
