Db2 v9 and DBPROTOCOL
Hi List,

In db2 v9 , DBPROTOCOL = Private is not supported and should be DRDA.

Could anyone pls explain in what situation we bind using DBprotocol=Private?
and what situation we use DBPROTOCOL=DRDA?

What steps we need to follow before we convert to DBPROTOCOL=DRDA?

Thanks in advance,

Installation job DSNTIJPD contains a step called DSNTP2DP that will examine your environment and generate everything you need to convert PRIVATE protocol packages to DRDA. The comments in the job describe the steps.

Also, PRIVATE protocol doesn't go away in DB29. You start getting a warning message when you bind. Good indication that it's time to convert, though.
