Gunning Technology Solutions, the world leader in DB2 consulting on Linux,
UNIX and Windows has an opening for an entry-level full-time DB2 DBA remote
DBA position. Due to the significant growth and revenue of DB2 on Linux,
UNIX and Windows over the past year, GTS is hiring. In fact we are seeing
record growth of DB2 with migrations from MySQL and Oracle to DB2. This
position requires a minimum of 1 yr of solid experience with DB2 (version 8
and above) on Linux, UNIX or Windows in a production environment. Linux or
UNIX experience is a must for this position, no exceptions. Must be familiar
with snapshot monitoring, DB2 monitoring metrics, event monitors, HADR,
DB2exfmt, Visual Explain, Design Advisor and DB2 recovery. This is a remote
position with occasional onsite consulting. Ideal candidate must be a
self-starter and highly motivated with desire to master DB2, write articles
on DB2 and to present at conferences such as IDUG, IOD and regional user
groups. Candidate must have ability to communicate effectively with remote
clients. Candidate will receive additional training, coaching and mentoring
with end result as being recognized as a top DBA in the field. This position
includes routine monitoring, database administration, performance reviews,
SQL Tuning, and exception-based monitoring in a 24 x 7 environment. DB2
teaching opportunities are also a possibility. This is a demanding position,
but the results will be more than worth it. Salary is negotiable. U.S
