Savepoints and CICS DB2 V8 NFM CICS/TS V3.2

Savepoints and CICS DB2 V8 NFM CICS/TS V3.2
We have used savepoints in batch without any issues. I have a developer that would like to use them in a CICS program.

The developer is getting a AD2R abends on the next SQL statement after a savepont is issued. Is there a trick or some other setting that must be enabled to use savepoints within CICS.

Thanks in advance.

Does the CICS program in question work OK if the DB2 SAVEPOINT statement is
removed? If not, the problem might be the "next SQL statement after
[the]... savepoint," as opposed to the SAVEPOINT statement itself.

The diagnostic information generated as a result of the CICS AD2R abend
should include the associated z/OS abend code (e.g., 0C4) and its
accompanying reason code. Do you have that information?

What is the next SQL statement? Is it processing a Cursor ? I think I have some examples under CICS at home from another site I worked at. I think the original idea was that we wanted a SAVEPOINT under CICS to rollback to instead of a SYNCPOINT/COMMIT. I will try to find them if I have time (in the middle of moving house).
