Looking for documentation of IFCID 21 (Lock Detail), Field QW0021SC (IRLM Subcodes)
Hello List,

I'm analyzing IFCID 21 records (lock detail). Currently I have a problem
how to interpret the content of the field QW0021SC which is definded as 4
bytes and holds the IRLM-subcodes.
What I found is in IRLM Messages and Codes for IMS and DB2 for z/OS
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dzichelp/v2r2/topic/com.ibm.irlm.doc/dxrmc000.pdf?noframes=true
on page 26 - 29 the description of the retrurn-codes of a LOCK-request,
but there is only a reason-code byte 1 and 2 explained. That doesn't match
the 4 byte subcode.

My IRLM data look like this:

IRLM-RC qw0021rc: 00000004
Req.-Token qw0021rt: 00000000
IRLM-Token qw0021ft: FFFFFFFF
IRLM-Subcode qw0021sc: 10000008

Where can I find a description of the IRLM-Subcode, especially of the SC
10000008?

Many thanks in advance!

(in response to Rolf Drees)
Hello Rolf,

You can happily ignore the last two bytes of QW0021SC. It's the first two
that really indicate the IRLM Reason Code and are of interest.
So in your case, a LOCK request, with RC x'04' RSN x'10 00'
(byte 1) Reason code X’10’ The lock is already held.
So it is a lock that was already acquired by this tran/job during a previous
lock request; for example because you are updating another row on the same page.

Kind regards,
Bart Steegmans.
