 just a shot in the dark...have you compared your zparms on both members? I have vague memories of run-away queries on DS when certain

Zparms were *not* the same in a plex - and then by chance the RID pool exploded,  sort space ran out, work buffers died etc.etc. I am sure

there are more. Print out the Zparms, get the DS Red book out where they list which zparms should be set "the same", "different" or "optional"

 and compare.....

Just an idle thought..

I have been under the impression that  Row-Level locking was not to be used in data sharing.   Data sharing facility can only lock to the page level.   Could the additional i/o be cause by one data sharing subsystem accessing the other data  sharing  subsystem to check on the row level lock?
